Here are some frequently asked questions that should answer your queries regarding the new operating system..

What are the buying requirements? We have no requirements to purchase the software.
Do I need to purchase a piece of hardware with the OS? This was an old rule that was replaced with the new EULA, which states that the OEM version can only be installed onto a new computer, or one that has had its motherboard recently replaced.
Can I purchase a notebook or computer that has Vista and upgrade to Windows 7 for free? Most computers and notebooks purchased between 26 June 2009 and 31 January 2010 apply for the free upgrade. For further details, please check the official upgrade guide.
I already purchased Vista, can I upgrade to Windows 7 for free? The free upgrade offer applies for the retail boxed version of Vista, purchased between 26 June 2009 and 31 January 2010. For further information click here.
Is this a full version or an upgrade? All OEM versions are the full version. An upgrade version will clearly use the word upgrade.
Can I upgrade my computer using the OEM software? Windows 7 OEM can not be used to upgrade an existing version of windows. You will need an upgrade version. The OEM software will only install onto a blank hard drive, or a drive that doesn't already have a copy of Windows installed.
What is the difference between 32bit and 64bit? The standard is the 32bit version. However if you know your CPU is 64bit and you have 4GB+ memory, and no incompatible peripherals or software, then you might want to think about using the 64bit version. The main difference between the two is that 64bit Windows has the ability to use more than 4GB RAM, helping your computer to run faster, smoother and with more applications open at the same time.
